How Bella's Journey was born
The idea for Bella arrived unexpectedly in a doctor's office waiting room.
"I looked up and saw a butterfly hanging from the ceiling, and I started thinking about how much we compare ourselves to others. I stopped scrolling, opened my Notes app, and started writing. That is how Bella's Journey was born."
Since then, I have shared Bella's story with children at the San Antonio Zoo, The DoSeum, Twig Book Shop, Barnes & Noble, Will Smith Zoo School, and classrooms and learning centers across San Antonio.
"Kids come up to me after readings and tell me they want to write a book someday, or that they have felt like Bella before. Those conversations are everything to me."
